◆ The Short Version - You're Welcome

"Privacy policies can be a bit of a slog, so here's the summary upfront. Everything Scotland collects is only what it needs to work properly and communicate with you. Your data will never be sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their marketing. I will always be honest with you about what I recommend and why, and if there's a commercial relationship behind anything on this site, I'll tell you clearly."

◆ 01

GDPR

I take data safety seriously. Any personal information you share with Everything Scotland, your name, your email address, anything else, will only be used to improve your experience on this website and to communicate with you in ways you've asked for. Nothing more.

Your data will never be sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Ever.

◆ 02

Affiliate Disclosure

Everything Scotland contains affiliate links to products, services, accommodation, tours, and travel experiences that I genuinely know and recommend. If you make a purchase through one of these links, I may receive a small commission at absolutely no extra cost to you.

"I will only ever recommend things I have personally used, visited, or thoroughly researched. I have no interest in wasting your time or mine recommending something that isn't worth it."

The same goes for accommodation, tours, activities, and travel services featured throughout the blog and podcast. If there's an affiliate relationship, I'll clearly disclose it near the top of the relevant page.

◆ My Commitment to You

I only work with businesses that align with my values. Scotland's landscapes, communities, and wildlife are worth protecting. I will never promote a business, service, or product that I believe is harmful to people, animals, or the environment.

I will never promote wildlife or animal tourism unless I have done thorough research and am confident that the business genuinely enhances the well-being of the animals involved.

If a business gifts me anything, a stay, a product, a tour, I will always say so. If I'm paid to write about or promote a business, I will always say so. And if I'm ever dissatisfied with a product or service, regardless of any commercial relationship, I won't recommend it. End of story.

To summarise: I'll always be honest, recommend only things I'd use myself, disclose any commercial relationships clearly, and only work with businesses I genuinely believe in.

◆ 03

Advertising

Everything Scotland may display advertising on the website. Where third-party advertising partners are involved, they may use cookies to serve relevant ads based on your browsing behaviour. This can include first-party and third-party cookies, as well as other tracking technologies.

Each internet browser has settings that allow you to block cookies and clear your browsing cache. The help section of your browser will tell you how to manage this. You can also find more information at allaboutcookies.org.

Opting out of personalised advertising does not mean you'll stop seeing ads; it means the ads you see will be less tailored to your interests.

If Everything Scotland works with a specific advertising partner, full details of that partnership and how to opt out will be listed here.

◆ 04

Cookies

Everything Scotland uses cookies to:

Keep the website functioning correctly - essential cookies that the site needs to work

Understand how visitors use the site - anonymised analytics, not linked to individuals

Serve advertising where applicable - see the Advertising section above

You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings at any time. Disabling cookies may affect some features of the website, but the core content will remain accessible

◆ 05
